Born today…Karsh

Photographer, Yousuf Karsh better known as Karsh of Ottowa, born today, 23rd of December 1908 in Mardin a city in the old Ottoman Empire, now Turkey. Died July 13th 2002 in Boston, Massachusetts.

It would be quicker to list the politicians and personalities he didn’t photograph rather than the ones he did, if you are interested in portraiture and lighting check out his official website at www.karsh.org and his many books, its a learning experience.
